Trashiest (yet most celebrated) lyrics/songs……..

………. Of the decade!

munni ‘bad’naam – Dabangg (2010)
Loved for its sheer senselessness, the song lay amid controversy recently, courtesy Emami (for use of Jhandu Baam). @Emami – enjoy the publicity while it lasts ;)

Emotional atyaachar - Dev D (2009)
Bol Bol why did you ditch me, Zindagi bhi lele yaar kill me……If there’s one song that tops the ‘trashy lyrics of the decade’ list, it’s this one. The Presleys of Patna did get their mojo working! Bride dancing away to glory was quirky but fun.

Kajra re – Bunty aur babli (2005)
A Bachchan family get-together, of sorts! The track went on to become a rage, winning all musical accolades for the year. (Trivia – Sushmita Sen was first considered for the song)

Bidi - Omkara (2006)
Gulzaar saab once said if there was ever an award for the ‘most trashy lyrics,’ he deserved it hands down. And rightly so! The almost-threatening-to-become-the-national-anthem hit came soon after his smashing success of Kajra re

Pappu cant dance saale - Jaane tu ya Jaane na (2008)
Rado ki ghadi haatho mein, perfume Gucci vala, but pappu can’t …..and despite two left feet, Pappu managed to steal the 2008 spotlight.

Dard-e-disco - Om Shanti Om (2007)
If only someone told me what that meant!

Do Dooni Chaar (2010) - movie review

The film is a refreshing change and is sure to leave you with a smile.

Duggal family, which struggles to make ends meet, is on cloud nine when it gets to 'splurge' a few extra grands off an income tax rebate. The son wants a new iPod, while the daughter will agree on nothing less than a dish TV. The mother (Neetu Singh), meanwhile is all excited to replace the old shabby fridge. All this, until the phone rings! It's phuffo (their bua). It's an invitation for a wedding of some xyz relative of hers. An invitation with 'strings attached.' The flat broke 'Bajaj-scooter' Duggal family must come in a car. And CRASH! Their dreams go to pieces. To make matters worse, they now have extra expenses to bear.

What follows is a fun ride. The narrative, light-heartedly, unfolds the situations the Duggals face, in their quest to fulfil what-may-seem-trivial wishes. The title is reflective of the minutest of calculations involved, for a middle-class family, to make ends meet. It's a film for us, about us. All characters are relatable. The kids, for instance, are as rebellious as the ever-sacrificing parents. Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor are adorable. Their chemistry is sure to make you forget the most loved pairs in the industry today.

Somewhere towards the end, the film gets a lil preachy. But a one time watch won't hurt.

Anjaana Anjaani (2010) - movie review

suicide (!), bridge, Atlantic Ocean, New York, San Francisco, LA, blush, Atlantic Ocean, bridge, suicide (?)

Anjaana Anjaani revolves around two characters, as alike as chalk and cheese, (headed for a common end). At 20-something, Akash and Kiara know life's a bitch and are ready to pull the plug on it. Their reasons, however, (for Akash, it's huge debt, for Kiara it's a failed relationship) are as lame as their attempts. (And quite expectedly), the irrational beings put off the idea for a while.

They, meanwhile, decide to live their last wishes. That's really where some fun begins. Akash, who hasn't 'done' it yet, doesn't want to die a virgin. And Kiara harbours whims of swimming in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
Las Vegas is next. Ranbir steals the show there with his happy 'n' gay moves on I'm a Disco Dancer (he's sung it too) in a gay club.

Priyanka is a charmer all the way. She is spontaneous, she is natural and fits best as Kiara.

The film is drab in parts, borrowed from our very own "B". The scenes between Kiara and ex flame Zayed are as boring as watching paint dry. But that doesn't take away from Akash and Kiara's crazy (and fun!) raps. Music (courtesy: Vishal-Shekar) is another USP of the film. Keeps you going in rain or shine ;) Hairat by Lucky Ali & tujhe bhula diya by Mohit Chauhan and Shruti Pathak are amazing tracks.
The film recevied a pretty tepid response at the box office. But, if you're a Bollywood fanboi, dont miss it!
word of caution - now that it must be off the theatres, watch it (if you happen to) with a whole lot of friends around (packed theatre abuzz with seetis kept us going ;)
